Hey, let’s chat about why having fabulous lashes is so important. Long, curled lashes effortlessly draw attention to your eyes, and have the remarkable ability to make your eyes appear larger and more awake. And let’s not forget the transformative power of mascara. When applied curled lashes, mascara adds volume and depth, elevating your overall look from everyday to extraordinary. So, whether you’re going for a natural or a dramatic look, remember that long, curled lashes aren’t just an accessory – they’re an expression of your individuality and a boost to your self-assured stride through life.
They’re the cherry on top of your look sundae — no makeup look is complete without them. Seriously! If you’ve ever read a romance book, you’d notice that in practically every main character’s description (both female and male), their lashes are used as descriptors to emphasize the type of beauty they posses. Think “fluttering eyelashes”.
I truly believe that having beautiful lashes is one of the easiest and most forgiving ways to enhance your natural beauty. It is because of this that I made it one of my life’s mission to crack the code on how to achieve beautifully curled lashes that last all day and night.
My journey to figuring out how to achieve beautifully curled lashes that last all day and night was not an easy one. It was made even more challenging due to the fact that I have hooded/monolid eyes, and my makeup skills are amateur as best. If I can keep my lashes curled all day long, especially while having hooded/monolid eyes, then I hope these tips can help you too 🙂
I’m going to separate this guide to achieving long, curled lashes all day and night into 2 parts: the tools you need and the technique.

The Tools you Need:
- Shiseido Eyelash Curler – An absolute GAME CHANGER when it comes to curling lashes! This doesn’t pinch my lids and grabs my lashes at the root!
- ETUDE Dr. Mascara Fixer For Super Long Lash #02 (Natural Extension) – The primer that keeps on giving! This lash primer keeps my lashes curled AND the fibers in them give my lashes length + thickens them too!!
- HEROINE MAKE by KISSME Long Up Mascara Super Waterproof 01 Black, Super Lengthening Fiber for Even Long and Curl – All hail Japanese waterproof makeup technology! This mascara is seriously waterproof and adds to the curl longevity. The color is very black and makes your lashes so defined! The mascara wand is also chef-kiss because it can really coat the mascara onto all of your lashes!
- Fluffy blending brush
- Eyeshadow
- Clean mascara wand
- Eyeliner
The Technique:
- Curl your lashes with the Shiseido eyelash curler
- curl close to lash base and crimp curler 3x and hold
- curl towards the middle of the lash length and crimp curler 3x and hold
- Before your lashes fall/uncurl (lol, the struggle) coat your lashes with the Dr. Mascara Fixer (lash primer)
- Wiggle the lash primer brush from root of lash to tip
- Let the lash primer dry. Give it like maybe 30 seconds
- If you’re as blessed as me, this means it’s time to start drawing on your eyebrows
- Now that your lash primer has gotten the chance to dry, curl your lashes again
- Apply your KISSME HEROINE MAKE mascara
- wiggle brush from lash root to tip
- REALLY get in there with the mascara!! It’s okay if your mascara is a little globby at this point
- Brush out your lashes with your clean mascara wand (remove the globs)
- Start applying your base eyeshadow color
- Brush a little bit of the leftover eyeshadow on your fluffy brush to your mascara’d lashes
- The idea here is to get the eyeshadow on your lids, and a little bit on your lashes to help dry them out
- Remember when people were using baby powder to thicken their lashes? This is along the same idea, but the lazy version because you don’t need to get out a whole ‘notha product
- Continue with the rest of your makeup
- Curl your DRIED lashes
- They must be dry otherwise your lashes will get stuck to your lash curler
- Shape your lash look with your curler —we’re using your lashes to define your eyes
- Do you want the center of your eyes to be defined? Position your lash curler to the center of your eye and curl
- Do you want the ends of your eyes to be defined? Position your lash curler to be angled pointed up towards your eyebrows, focusing the curler on the ends of your eyes
- Apply more mascara
- Focus mascara where you want your lashes to be defined
- Now, hold your mascara wand so that it is vertical and go over your lashes again
- Clean up lashes with clean mascara wand
- Apply a brown eyeliner to your top waterline
- YES IT WILL SHOW UP
- Due to all of the lash curling you did, your top waterline will peek through! This means you can waterline/tightline it so that you can create that “invisible liner” look!
- Smudge some brown eyeliner on your lid and blend it out. We don’t want any lines! Just a gradient of color from your lashes to your brows.
- Finish off your eye make up look by curling your DRIED lashes one last time!
- Clean off the dried mascara bits from your face lol
PHEW! The technique sounds like a lot, but I promise you, it’s so worth it!! Having my lashes stay curled and defined all day makes me feel confident and beautiful — like I can take on anything that comes my way.
I’ll be rocking this until the day or die, or find something easier. I promise to keep you updated if I do 🙂
I hope this helps you live out your beautifully curled eyelash dreams! I would love to hear back if you do!!
